When I hit pan on the Max Factor Crème Puff Blush (which is really nice, by the way), I figured I’d try something new. As the Tarte blushes have quite the cult following in beauty blogger land, I decided to try one out and… somehow ended up getting a Too Faced bronzer too, because yolo. Thoughts on each below :)
Confession – I have never in my life used a bronzer. I always assumed they would make me look like a Kardashian and/or oompa loompa which scared the crap out of me. After watching some Lisa Eldridge tutorials (this one specifically), I decided to give one a go as my post-winter skin has been looking rather pale and lifeless. I didn’t want anything with shimmer in it (yikes), so with the help of a lovely Mecca sales assistant, I went for this matte Too Faced one. This colour isn’t too intense which is good if you are after something a little more subtle (I’d imagine the Chocolate Bronzer would be better for more of a tanned face). When it comes to application, I pretty much just follow the Lisa Eldridge tutorial. Review wise, I guess I don’t have a lot to go on since this is my first bronzer, but I can say this blends SO beautifully, is long lasting and gives a lovely, natural glow. Oh and it smells like chocolate. Officially converted.
Ok, so this was the product I actually went to buy before I got sidetracked by the bronzer. The colour ‘Exposed’ is a pinky mauve nude which I’m really loving as it looks super natural on my medium complexion. It’s buildable, pigmented and seriously long lasting — e.g. I apply this at about 8am and by 5.30pm, it has faded ever so slightly. Brush wise, I have been using the Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek for this which picks up the product nicely. Overall, it’s just everything you’d want in a blush really and I definitely think it lives up to the hype.
Strangely enough, the only other products I have tried from Too Faced and Tarte have both been mascaras (Better Than Sex and Gifted), both of which I loved. So with 2 product wins now from both brands, I am keen to try more. An awesome added bonus is both brands are also cruelty free. Money well spent I say.
