Cape Town Photo Diary: Babylonstoren

Babylonstoren was high up on my list of places to visit on this trip back home. Surrounded by the mountains in the Drakenstein Valley, it is one of the oldest working Cape Dutch farms in South Africa (founded in 1690!) and the entire farm is completely open to explore.

The main restaurant there, Babel was booked out for a Christmas party that day so instead we took a walk through the beautiful 8 acre garden to the Green House, an outdoor cafe serving lighter meals, fresh from their vegetable and herb garden. It was SO GOOD. The smoked chicken & goats cheese salad was possibly one of the best things I have ever eaten. And the wine, direct from the farms winery, amazing.

There is also a Farm Hotel and Spa which would make an incredible weekend getaway (next time!). What a spot, well worth the drive there.
